Shipment Safety & Compliance

Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy

This policy explains the types of goods that customers should not include in shipments handled or coordinated by Globe Moving & Relocation and the responsibilities of customers when declaring shipment contents.

Last Updated: 13 August 2026

For the safety of customers, employees, transportation providers, logistics partners and the public, certain goods may be prohibited, restricted or subject to additional documentation and approval requirements. Customers are responsible for accurately declaring the contents of their shipment.

1. Purpose of This Policy

This policy is intended to help customers understand which categories of goods may not be accepted for transportation, storage or international relocation.

The acceptance of any item is also subject to applicable transportation laws, carrier rules, customs requirements, destination-country regulations and the terms of the applicable service.

2. Customer Declaration Responsibility

Customers must provide accurate information about the contents of their shipment.

Customers must not intentionally conceal, misrepresent or omit information about goods being transported.

Important: If you are unsure whether an item can be transported, contact Globe Moving & Relocation before packing or handing over the item.

3. Prohibited Items

The following categories of goods are generally not accepted for ordinary moving and relocation shipments:

Illegal Goods

Goods whose possession, transportation or import/export is prohibited under applicable law.

Explosives

Explosive materials, detonators, fireworks or other goods classified as explosive or dangerous.

Weapons & Ammunition

Firearms, ammunition and other regulated weapons unless specifically permitted and appropriately handled under applicable law.

Illegal Drugs

Narcotics, illegal drugs and other controlled substances that cannot legally be transported.

Hazardous Materials

Dangerous substances or materials that create unacceptable transportation or storage risks.

Stolen or Contraband Goods

Goods that are stolen, unlawfully obtained, smuggled or otherwise prohibited by law.

4. Flammable Materials

Flammable liquids, gases and other materials may present significant transportation and storage risks.

Customers should not include fuel, highly flammable substances, gas cylinders or similar materials in ordinary household or commercial moving shipments unless specifically approved and legally permitted.

5. Explosive & Firework Materials

Fireworks, explosives, detonating devices and similar materials are not accepted as ordinary household or commercial moving goods.

Customers should consult the relevant authorities or specialist licensed carriers where legally required.

6. Weapons & Ammunition

Firearms, ammunition and regulated weapons are subject to strict legal and transportation requirements.

Customers must not place such items inside ordinary household or commercial moving shipments without prior written confirmation and all legally required permissions.

7. Illegal Drugs & Controlled Substances

Illegal drugs, narcotics and other prohibited controlled substances must not be included in any shipment.

Any applicable prescription or legally permitted medication should be handled according to applicable laws and transportation requirements.

8. Chemicals & Hazardous Substances

Certain chemicals, toxic substances, corrosive materials, pesticides and other dangerous substances may be prohibited or require specialist handling.

Customers should disclose any potentially hazardous material before booking a moving service.

9. Gas Cylinders & Pressurised Containers

Gas cylinders, compressed gases and certain pressurised containers may present transportation risks.

Such items should not be included in ordinary relocation shipments unless specifically accepted under applicable safety and transportation requirements.

10. Fuel & Combustible Liquids

Petrol, diesel, kerosene, fuel containers and similar combustible materials should not be included in ordinary household moving shipments.

Customers should properly empty and prepare eligible equipment according to applicable safety requirements before transportation.

11. Perishable Goods

Perishable food, refrigerated goods and other items that can spoil during transit may not be suitable for ordinary moving services.

Customers should discuss any special requirements before booking transportation.

12. Plants & Biological Materials

Plants, seeds, soil, biological materials and similar items may be subject to agricultural, quarantine, customs or destination-country restrictions.

International shipments may be subject to additional restrictions.

13. Valuable & Sensitive Items

Customers should inform Globe Moving & Relocation before packing high-value or particularly sensitive goods.

Depending on the circumstances, customers may be advised to carry certain valuable personal items themselves or arrange appropriate specialist protection.

Examples may include:

  • Large amounts of cash
  • Important personal documents
  • Passports and identity documents
  • Jewellery and extremely valuable personal items
  • Irreplaceable documents

14. Electronic Devices & Batteries

Certain batteries, power banks, electronic equipment and battery-powered devices may be subject to transportation restrictions depending on the shipping method.

Customers should disclose unusual, large or specialised batteries before transportation, particularly for international shipments.

15. International Shipments

International shipments may be subject to additional restrictions imposed by customs authorities, airlines, shipping lines, freight carriers and destination countries.

An item that can legally be transported domestically may still be restricted or prohibited in another country.

16. Customs Restrictions

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information and documents required for customs clearance where applicable.

Customs authorities may inspect, hold, reject, seize or impose duties on goods according to applicable law.

17. Undeclared Items

If prohibited, restricted or otherwise undeclared goods are discovered after collection or during transportation, the shipment may be delayed, refused, returned or handled according to applicable legal and operational requirements.

Additional costs arising from undeclared goods may be charged to the responsible customer where permitted.

18. Inspection & Verification

Shipments may be subject to inspection, verification or screening by authorised transportation, security, customs or government authorities.

Globe Moving & Relocation cannot prevent a legally authorised inspection of a shipment.

19. Refusal of Service

Globe Moving & Relocation may refuse to accept goods where the company reasonably believes that transportation would violate applicable law, carrier rules, safety requirements or the terms of the requested service.

20. Customer Liability for Undeclared Goods

Customers may be responsible for losses, delays, penalties, additional transportation costs, government charges or other consequences arising from prohibited, restricted or incorrectly declared goods.

21. Storage Restrictions

Prohibited, hazardous, illegal or unsafe goods must not be placed into storage facilities used for relocation services.

Storage providers may impose additional restrictions based on their own safety and operational requirements.

22. Vehicle Transportation

Customers arranging car or bike transportation should remove personal belongings and prohibited items from the vehicle unless specifically agreed otherwise.

Fuel levels and other vehicle-preparation requirements may be subject to the applicable transportation arrangement.

23. When in Doubt

If you are unsure whether a particular item can be transported, please contact Globe Moving & Relocation before packing or handing over the item. Do not assume that an item is acceptable simply because it is commonly transported domestically.

24. Policy Updates

Globe Moving & Relocation may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in transportation rules, carrier requirements, customs regulations, safety standards or business practices.

The latest version will be published on this page with a revised β€œLast Updated” date.

25. Relation With Other Policies

This policy should be read together with the applicable Terms & Conditions, Moving & Service Delivery Policy, Insurance Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy and other applicable service documentation.
